Bear Stearns Bank plc v Forum Global Equity Ltd

[2007] EWHC 1576 (Comm), [2007] All ER (D) 103

High Court

This case reaffirmed the basic legal and City principle that ‘my word is my bond’.

In this case Forum Global Equity Ltd argued that there was no binding contract because there was no concluded contract, the negotiations were merely an ‘agreement to agree’; the terms were too uncertain; and there was no intention to create legal relations.
